The Lisbon Public Schools and Mr. Ben Zahrbock, principal, would like to announce our new kindergarten instructor for the 2019-2020 school year – Hannah Wittenburg. Hannah will fill a need for another kindergarten section based on fall enrollment projections for kindergarten. Hannah grew up in Wahpeton, North Dakota. She moved to Lisbon for her 9th grade year of high school and graduated as a Bronco in 2015. Her family, on her mother’s side, have deep roots in the Fort Ransom area. After high school graduation, she attended Valley City State University and graduated in December of 2018 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a kindergarten endorsement and certificate in library media and information sciences. Spring semester of 2019, Hannah has served South Valley pre-school special education as a long-term substitute teacher in Gwinner. She is also serving as a special education aide in the Lisbon elementary in the afternoons. While in college, Hannah served as secretary of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and was a member of Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor society as well as on the President’s List for academics. Ms. Wittenburg student taught in Lisbon after participating in a number of practicums in education while in college. Hannah cannot wait to start her teaching career in the Lisbon Elementary. We are very excited to welcome Hannah Wittenburg to our staff.
