The Waterford Upstart Program
We are excited to share with you a new unique program available to all 4-year old children in the Lisbon School District! The Waterford Upstart Program is a school-readiness program that teaches preschool-aged children basic skills they need in reading, math, and science so they will be ready for kindergarten.
Families who participate in the Waterford Upstart Kindergarten Readiness Program will receive:
- a Dell laptop computer (which your family will be able to keep upon program completion), as well as Internet service during your participation for qualifying families
- a personal coach to support your family throughout the program to ensure strong parental engagement
- Waterford.org’s personalized curriculum in reading, math, and science that is standards-aligned, developmentally appropriate, and also endorsed for special education.
The program is meant to be used a minimum of 15 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Children who will be in Kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year are eligible for the program.
