****Make sure to be checking the college websites for scholarships they have to offer. Some colleges have separate scholarship applications that need to be filled out for students to be considered eligible.

Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans Scholarship

Eligibility: be enrolled full-time as a high school senior in the US with plans to enter college no later than the Fall semester following graduation, exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the US (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution), demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required), be involved in co-curricular and community service activities, display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, hold a minimum GPA of 2.0, and be a US citizen

Mensa Foundation’s College Scholarships
Eligibility: Write an essay

Deadline: January 15, 2018
Awards: When completing this essay, you are applying to multiple scholarships at once. Each scholarship has its own scholarship amount ranging from $500 – $2,500.

North Dakota School Counseling Association Scholarship
Eligibility: ND high school senior, school counseling must be a NDSCA member
Application: Available in Mrs. Zahrbock’s office
Deadline: Envelope must be postmarked by December 18, 2017
Awards: $1,000

Real Deal Scholarship
Eligibility: ND high school senior, 2.5 GPA or higher, involved in three or more extracurricular activities
(entrepreneurship, volunteerism, music, sports, school clubs, organizations or other accomplishments), must be a positive ambassador within your community, must attend a ND college or university in the fall of 2018

Deadline: Eight recipients are drawn each month, October – March
Awards: 48 seniors will receive a $500 scholarship. Those 48 students will then compete for an additional $3,000
scholarship.
